About Breakfast Bake
A publication about the first meal of the day and the oven that makes it.
What we publish
Breakfast Bake is a recipe site for breakfast and baking: pancakes and waffles, muffins and quick breads, breakfast casseroles, sweet rolls and pastries, breakfast cookies and bars, and savory morning dishes. Alongside the recipes we keep a shelf of baking guides that explain the techniques and ingredients behind them.
How every recipe is written
- Weights and volumes. Baking ingredients are given in grams as well as cups and spoons, because weighing is the most reliable way to repeat a result.
- The reason, not just the step. We explain what each key ingredient does and what to look for at each stage, so you can adjust with confidence.
- Honest timings. Prep, baking and resting times are listed separately, and the total includes all of them.
- Real substitutions. When we suggest a swap, we say what changes. When a swap won't work, we say that too.
- Storage that's useful. Most breakfast bakes can be made ahead, so we cover storing, freezing and reheating.
Our editorial standards
We don't publish ratings, reviews or nutrition figures we haven't actually collected or calculated. When a recipe shows nutrition information, it names how the estimate was made. When we update a recipe in a meaningful way, the page shows the date it was updated.
Who's behind it
Breakfast Bake is an independent publication.
